Owner Peggy Province is shown “sizing up”
Christmas Trees at Mule Tree Farms.

Mule Tree Farm began as a weekend retreat in the country for the Province’s with the purchase of 40 acres just north of Warrensburg, Missouri. It has been serving families for over thirty years as a “Choose & Cut” Christmas Tree Farm.

In the spring of 1972 they planted 2,500 Scotch Pine trees to promote more wildlife. Later they converted an old barn into their sales office and sold their first trees in 1976.The barn that began as their sales office in 1976 is now the Old Barn Gift Shop. It is decorated with fresh wreaths (decorated and undecorated). Baskets of ornaments sit on decorated tables. Christmas music fills the air. After walking over the farm to pick out the perfect tree, customers come back to the barn to warm themselves next to the Yukon stove and enjoy a cup of warm cider, hot chocolate, or coffee.

It is very much a family atmosphere at Mule Tree Farm during the season which begins on the weekend before Thanksgiving.

The Mule Tree Farm has hosted the Missouri Christmas Tree summer meetings and the farm tour for the National Christmas Tree meeting when they met in Kansas City. Province says they have received a lot of valuable information from their association and from the Missouri Department of Agriculture.

Mule Tree Farms opens for business on the weekend before Thanksgiving 9am to 5pm-Sat. and Sun. After Thanksgiving we are open Fridays noon-5pm Saturdays and Sundays 9am to 5pm. We are located 7 miles north of Warrensburg on 13Highway, 1 mile east on E Highway and 1 mile north to the farm. Watch for the signs.

They can be reached at 660-747-TREE (8733) and are available on the web at www.muletreefarm.com.

Chopping down a Christmas tree at the Mule Tree Farm has become a tradition for many families. This year, make it one of yours.

Merry Christmas!
